<p>PURPOSE: To enable highly advanced clinical diagnosis and treatment such as an immuno assay or the like by using an antibody derived from a no-antigen animal as an antibody. CONSTITUTION: A germ-free animal is obtained by germ-free cesarean section or germ-free eclosion, and bred by germ-free technique under the isolator condition. As a germ-free animal, a mouse, a pig, a rat and so on are general, and Balb/c mouse among mouses is preferable. By using a germ-free system, a monoclonal antibody to all antigens which a non-germ free animal produces can be produced. As the germ-free animal shows a strong immune response to antigen, it is possible to heighten the probability of ascertaining B-lymphocyte which produces antibody connected to a specific epitope of antibody. Furthermore, it is possible to produce highly specific antibody to antigen having many epitopes. The thus obtained monoclonal antibody is mainly used in immuno assay which is measurement for antigen-antibody interaction, and also used as an in vivo image formation and treatment agent.</p> |
