PURPOSE: To correct the reading characteristic of a reader means in order to always acquire the output images of a constant tint. CONSTITUTION: A color patch original is measured by a spectral photometer 7. The data acquired by the photometer 7 and shown in an XYZ color are fetched by a RAM 6 via a switch 3 and converted into the data on an RGB color of a standard color space such as an NTSC-RGB, etc. On the other hand, the color patch original is read at a reading part 2 and fetched by the RAM 6 via the switch 3. In this instance, the color patch original is named 'rgb'. Such a scanner input conversion table is prepared in the RAM 6 that maps the acanner subordinate color 'rgb' into a standard color RGB, i.e., a scanner independent color obtained in a color measurement space. Thus the scanner calibration data can be obtained. |
