PURPOSE: To manufacture a light-weight bumper beam for a vehicle, which can protect a car body from the impact in the crash of the vehicle by block- polymerizing norbornane monomer in the presence of an organic fiber material. CONSTITUTION: At first, an organic fiber material 1 is dipped in the organic solvent 2 in a vessel for cleaning to be preliminarily cleaned. In the next step, the surface of the preliminarily cleaned organic fiber material 3 is treated. This surface treatment must be done in such a way that the deposition efficiency of polymer based on the organic fiber material is within the range of 0.005 to 10weight%. In addition, surface treated organic fiber materials are layered, and the layered surface treated fiber materials are compressed with holding pattern films between layers and cooled to a room temperature. Pressure at this time must be at least 0.001kgf/cm<2> at most 9kgf/cm<2> or lower, or desirably 7kgf/cm<2> or lower, and more preferably 5kgf/cm<2> or lower. In the next step, polynorbornane resin is molded in such a way that reaction liquid is supplied in a mold in which the organic fiber material is preliminarily attached and is cured. |
