The switch has respective opposite edges (24,26) of the contact strips (20,22) similarly shaped to be equidistant across the width of the contacts. The edges are formed so that no space (21) exists between the contacts from a plan view facing the displacement path of the electrical conductor (10) which may be in size and shape superior to the contact zone of this conductor on the strips. The conductor rests on the contacts by means of protuberances (131,141) perpendicular to the displacement direction. The space between the strips facing the contact has a length perpendicular to the displacement direction (17) which may be greater than the width (L3) of the protuberances. The edges may be curved, triangular in outline, have an angled straight section or be gently curved.
