The rack (1) is placed on a table, with different documents placed on the rack so they can be easily read. The documents are separated by dividing walls (8) whose position can be adjusted. The walls can be slid along a guide (4) and fixed in place by stops (11). The rack is covered with a transparent face which is inclined to the horizontal. A protective cover (13) can be fitted to allow transport and also to carry identifying markings. The dividing walls can be removed to increase available space, and can be positioned in pre-programmed locations along the length of the rack, corresp. for example to the width of A4 sheets.
