Appts. for rotational speed control in a sling-controlled rolling mill train giving improved control dynamics

The appts. is intended for rotational speed control of a sling-controlled rolling mill train where the sling of rolled material between two adjacent roll stands (i) and (i+1) is supported on a sling lifter. The position of the sling lifter is adjusted by a controller (10) acting on the rotational speed controller (8) of the respective roll stand (i). The appts. is characterised by the control loop of the position controller (19) incorporating a controller (11) for controlling the rate of change of position of the sling.
