The control protocol device monitors the manual command inputs to an electronic device and captures their relative frequency, so that an interactive command sequence may be optimised. The protocol monitor device (1) contains means to accumulate each input control command up to a maximum value. The individual summed control inputs within a given time frame are assigned a weighting factor, which determines their future order of selection.
