The telephone exchange unit (2) is operated by a telephonist (23) or similar and has extensions (21,22) connected to it. It has an on-coupling function and a reference circuit. A control unit initiates a call to an alternative answering point or equipment (3), thereby creating conditions for coupling the telephone exchange unit with the equipment, thus coupling the call and the calling entity to a telephonist belonging to the answering point or equipment. The telephone exchange unit is coupled with the equipment via a rented line (12), logically separated from the public telephone system. The control unit remains connected to the equipment via a connection, logically separated from a line coupled to the public telephone system. |
