PURPOSE: To provide an uninterruptible power supply capable of supplying a load with power immediately after the occurrence of any service interruption, and of supplying power for an extended time. CONSTITUTION: If a service interruption occurs, the output power from an accumulator 7 charged by a normal power supply 10, is converted into a.c. power by means of an inverter 8, and is fed as power supply to a load 9. At the same time the output power from the accumulator 7 is supplied as exciting current to an induction generator 2 through the inverter 8, and the induction generator 2 is driven by a d.c. motor 1. When the rotational speed of the induction generator 2 reaches a specified value, the output power from the induction generator 2 is fed as power supply to the load 9 through a boosting chopper circuit C. When the output power from the induction generator 2 is stabilized, the power supply to the load 9 Is switched from that from the booster chopper circuit C to that from the induction generator 2, and the accumulator 7 is charged with the secondary slip power of the induction generator 2 through the booster chopper circuit C. |
