PURPOSE: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device which can drive a bridge type lighting device without using winding components such as transformers. CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp 4 is connected to output terminals 5, 6 of a bridge circuit Br2 comprising four FETsTr2 to Tr5. Constant voltage sources ZD1, ZD2 and capacitors C3, C5 by which voltages generated in the constant voltage sources are maintained for a predetermined period are provided between the gate and source of the upper FETs, Tr2 and Tr3. NPN transistors Tr6, Tr7 are provided between the gate source so that when the lower FETsTr4, Tr5 conduct, the upper FETsTr2, Tr3 do not conduct. Pulse signals which are 180 degrees out of phase are supplied from an oscillating circuit 2 to the lower FETsTr4, Tr5, so that the bridge circuit Br2 is alternately driven at 180 deg. phase difference. |
