PURPOSE: To provide a highly safe animal feed good in the transfer and accumulation of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid, and further to provide a method for producing an animal food containing the nutritively pharmacologically valuable eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid in large contents and capable of being easily digested. CONSTITUTION: This feed for animals contains fats and oils having a fatty acid composition containing >=35% of saturated fatty acids and >=5% of univalent unsaturated fatty acids, and eicosapentaenoic acid and/or docosahexaenoic acid. The characteristics of the method for producing the animal food enhanced in the contents of the eicosapentaenoic acid and/or the docosahexaenoic acid comprises giving the feed to livestock or domestic fowls. The animal food, such as the eggs of domestic fowls, containing the eicosapentaenoic acid and/or the docosahexaenoic acid in large contents can efficiently be produced. |
