PURPOSE: To provide an original size detector capable of accurately detecting the size of an original without using a complicated optical system. CONSTITUTION: In the original size detector detecting the size of the original placed on a platen glass, a reflection type original sensor is constituted of a light emitting part irradiating the original with light and a light receiving part receiving reflected light from the original, and the reflection type original sensor SNSR4 is arranged between the short side of an A4-sized original and the short side of a letter-sized original, and the light emitting part and the light receiving part are arrayed to be in parallel with the short side of the original. |
