The diffuser consists of a base (1) with a hole (2) it is to receive a container (3) of a perfume, and a diffuser cap (4) with a number of inner channels (6) for strands (7) of a wick which has one end immersed in the perfume. The diffuser cap can be made, for example, from solid wood, sponge, volcanic rock, terracotta or other absorbent material, so that it is constantly impregnated with the perfume to diffuse it into the surrounding area. The base (1) can be of any size, and the hole in it lined with a plastic sleeve to protect the perfume container.
