PURPOSE: To perform speech synthesis of all text data even when English, other languages and dialects coexist in a Japanese sentence. CONSTITUTION: Text data are generated by adding dictionary information, being set in correspondence with character modification, to a character code and analyzed. A text speech synthesizing device 13 selects a dictionary complied with each language based on the dictionary information of the analyzed text data and performs voice synthesis by making reference to the selected dictionary. The speech synthesis of all text data is performed even when various kinds of languages and dialogues, etc., coexist in one sentence. Also, since dictionary information is set in correspondence with character modification, special control is not required and the speech synthesis is performed by using an ordinary word processor, a personal computer, etc. |
