PURPOSE: To allow the optical signal transmitter whose safety is enhanced to forcibly stop lighting in an abnormal state such as a broken optical cable and to easily restore the abnormal state. CONSTITUTION: In the optical signal transmitter provided with an optical signal reception section 1 including a photoelectric transducer section 2, an optical signal transmission section 3 including an electrooptic conversion section 4 and a signal processing section 5, the optical signal transmission section 3 is provided with an interrupt circuit 7 interrupting operating power supplied from a power supply section 6 and with the power supply control section 8 controlling the interrupt circuit 7 from the ON state into the OFF state to stop the operation of the optical signal transmission section 3 when a signal detection section 9 detecting a broken optical cable or an abnormality of an opposite party station and with a forced lighting switch using the power supply control section 8 to control the interruption circuit 7 from the OFF state into the ON state when an abnormal state is recovered to start transmission of the optical signal from the optical signal transmission section 3. |
