The tank, esp. for petroleum products carried by an armoured vehicle, consists of an outer shell (3) of a layered composition material providing mechanical strength, and an inner shell of an elastomer material to provide the seal. The layered compsn. material is made from a resin selected from the group comprising organic resins, e.g. phenolic resin, vinylester, polyester and epoxy resin, and fibres selected from the group comprising glass, carbon and aramid. The inner shell (4) is made from an elastomer material selected from the group comprising polyurethanes, neoprene, and nitriles, esp. PVC nitriles, or a mixture of these, vulcanised or not.
