<p>A heating system for heating a heat sink via a heat transfer medium. The invention includes a vortex chamber (1) having opposite first (3) and second (4) inwardly curved end walls (3, 4), a combustion chamber (6) fluidly communicating with the vortex chamber (1), fuel-air supply (12, 7) means fluidly communicating with the combustion chamber (6) for injecting fuel-air mixture into the combustion chamber (6). Ignition means (24, 26A) are provided in the combustion chamber (6) for igniting the fuel-air mixture. A fuel ionizing chamber (19) is disposed in the vortex chamber (1) fluidly communicating with the fuel-air supply means (12, 7) for ionizing fuel entering the fuel-air supply means, and heat transfer medium containing means (31) are provided for holding the heat transfer medium in thermal contact with the vortex chamber (1).</p> |
