Utensil consists of a container (1) which is open at the top and bottom and is large enough to hold sufficient batter to cover whole surface of the hotplate. A spacer (13,15) is at each end to form a gap beneath the lower edges of the sidewalls (101,111) so that the batter flows in an even layer over the hotplate as the utensil is moved over it. When the utensil is used on a circular hotplate, the spacer (13) at one end is placed in the centre of the hotplate, while a step (16) at the other end engages with the hotplate's outer edge. In variants of the design, the rear step can be replaced by recesses engaging with a raised rim on the hotplate or projections engaging with a peripheral groove.
|
