FIELD: rolling. SUBSTANCE: cross-section of octahedral blanks is formed with consideration of the regulated values of angle α between the neighboring inclined faces and the width of the flat part of bases D, D. Such regulation in combination with the assembly of octahedron blanks into the composite blank and repeated rolling in the edging and four-roll nonregulated passes of composite blank 8 allows, as has been proved by a series of experimental rolling, production of sections of two type-sizes in one set of rolls. EFFECT: production of sections with thickness of less than 1.5 mm, higher efficiency, reduced roll inventory and decreased labor input in manufacture of the edging groove. |
