PURPOSE: To maintain cushioning function for a long time even though a big force of shock is applied. CONSTITUTION: A packaging container is composed of a container main body 1 and cushioning materials 10 that are interposed between inside corners of the container main body 1 and ridgelines of a substance S to be packaged. Each of the cushioning materials 10 is made from a tube-like body 11 of generally L-shaped cross section. The tube-like body 11 is composed of a first component part 12 approximately in L-shaped cross section extending along two walls on both sides of the inside corner of the container main body 1, a second component part of generally L-shaped cross section placed apart from the first component part 12 and extending along two faces on both sides of the ridgelines of the substance S to be packaged, and connecting parts 14 and 15 connecting side edges of the component parts 12 and 13. A rib 17 projecting inward is formed inside the transverse wall part 12B along its entire length by making the middle part in the direction of the width of the transverse wall part 12B indented toward the inside. A recession 19, recessed toward the inside, is formed to the outside of the transverse wall part 12B along its entire length, and parts on both sides of the recession 19 on the outside of the transverse wall part 12B of the first component part 12 are stuck to the container main body 1. |
