PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of a roller rocker arm, make the roller rocker arm small and light, lessen the wear loss, and improve the durability. CONSTITUTION: A roller to be brought into contact with a cam 7 is a silicon nitride-based ceramic sliding roller 6 to be directly inserted and set in a metal inner shaft 4 in the way the roller can rotate freely and of the ceramic sliding roller 6, the surface roughness of the outer circumference, which is a sliding part to the cam 7, and the inner circumference, which is a sliding part to the metal inner shaft 4, is suppressed to 0.5μm as an average roughness of ten points. |
