WATER-RESISTANT TRANSPARENT PAPER CAPABLE OF RECYCLING AND WINDOW ENVELOPE

PURPOSE: To produce a water-resistant transparent paper having good recycling property and water resistance sufficient for window envelope and capable of readily feeding to recovering step after using and to prepare a window envelope using the paper. CONSTITUTION: This water-resistant transparent paper capable of recycling is obtained by applying a crosslinkable alkali-soluble resin composition comprising one or more kinds of resins selected from a radiation-carboxyl group- containing resin or a radiation-curable phenolic hydroxyl group-containing resin and a crosslinkable radiation-durable resin to at least one face of a transparent paper having >=60% transparency produced by using a cellulose fiber and curing the coated face by radiation irradiation. The characteristics of the water- resistant transparent paper are to have alkali-soluble water-resistant transparent layer and generate 10-80% gel fraction obtained by extracting the water-resistant transparent layer with heated toluene for 15min.
