PURPOSE: To prepare a low-temp. shrinkable film by incorporating a terpene resin into a rubber-modified styrenic resin which comprises a continuous phase formed from styrene, methyl methacrylate, etc., and a disperse phase comprising a binary styrene-butadiene copolymer rubber and is a mixture of two rubber-modified styrenic resins having different softening points, and then stretching the resultant compsn. CONSTITUTION: This low-temp. shrinkable film is produced by compounding 100 pts.wt. rubber-modified styrenic resin with 5-15 pts.wt. (partially hydrogenated) terpene resin and monoaxially stretching the resultant compsn. The former resin comprises a continuous phase formed from a styrenic monomer (A), an acrylic ester (B), and methyl methacrylate (C) and a disperse phase comprising a binary styrene-butadiene copolvmer rubber resultant and is a mixture of a rubber-modified styrenic resin having a Vicat softening point of 65-80 deg.C and that having a Vicat softening point of 80-95 deg.C, the difference in Vicat softening points being 5 deg.C or higher. The wt. ratio of A:B:C is pref. (45-70):(5-20): (25-50). The copolymer rubber pref. has a styrene content of 25-40-wt.% and is used in an amt. of 5-15,wt.%. The terpene resin is obtd. by the cationic polymn. of styrene, etc., with a terpene. The wt. ratio of obtd. film is excellent in strengths, stiffness, and clarity. |
