PURPOSE: To increase a speed and to reduce a power consumption by eliminating the dependency of bearing rotating torque on temperature. CONSTITUTION: In an actuator assembly of an HDD magnetic head, a pivot bearing 28 of a head arm comprises a pair of bearings 38 apart axially from each other and receiving a preload. In the bearings 38, the coefficient of linear expansion of an outer sleeve 42 is made larger positively than that of an inner shaft 44. A variation in rotating torque in which, as the temperature increases, the preload also increases, as the temperature decreases, the preload also decreases, as the preload increases, a rotating torque increases, and as the preload decreases, the rotating torque decreases, and a variation in rotating torque in which, as the temperature of grease sealed in the bearings 38 increases, the rotating torque decreases, and as the temperature of the grease decreases, the rotating torque increases are offset each other.
