PURPOSE: To obtain a twisted tinsel without difference between the obverse and reverse side of flat foil yarn, having moderate mechanical strength, twistable with no concern about turning upside down of the flat foil yarn and/or its breakage even in a high-speed twister as well as conventional one, causing no corrosion of the metal deposition layer, free from luster unevenness, and excellent in touch feeling. CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a laminate is prepared by laminating one side of a synthetic resin film of 6-9μm thick such as of polyethylene terephthalate or nylon with a metal deposition layer and a corrosin-proofing coating layer in this order. Second, this laminate is further laminated with another synthetic resin film of 6-9μm thick such as of polyethylene terephthalate or nylon through an adhesive layer by layering the corrosion-proofing coating layer inside. Third, the resultant laminate film are slit in narrow width to form into flat foil yarns. Finally, these flat foil yarns are twisted with any filament yarns to obtain the objective twisted tinsel.
