PURPOSE: To obtain a cosmetic having stun-beautifying effect, preventing skin aging and protecting hair, comprising an extract prepared from seeds of a coffee tree containing chlorogenic acid as an essential component by using one or more solvents selected from among water, a lower alcohol and a polyol- based organic solvent. CONSTITUTION: An extract of seeds of a coffee tree containing chlorogenic acid as an essential component is found to have an inhibitory action on formation of lipid peroxides, an ultraviolet absorbing action and an inhibitory action on melanism and is applied as a cosmetic. The extract is useful in a field of a medicine/quasi-medicine and usable in a shape such as lotion, milky lotion, cream (including ointment), oil, pack, soap (including medicinal soap), body soap, bathing agent, shampoo, rinse, hair tonic or hair spray as a composition for various cosmetics in a field of cosmetic. |
