The fuel supply device includes a pump (10) submerged in the tank (12) which draws fuel through an upstream filter (11) and drives it through a downstream filter (13) and a pressure-reducing valve (40) to the engine (14). The pump delivery pressure is monitored preferably by a manometric switch (30) which at a predetermined threshold sends a signal to the pump controller (50) with its diagnostic calculator (60). The switch is closed at a pressure at least 200 mbar above the setting of the regulator valve which is as close as possible to the fuel injectors.
