The device has a drive mechanism (13) acting on a number of parallel pins (11), mounted in a holder (12), for individual displacement in the axial direction. The drive mechanism uses a linear cam (16) displaced in a direction perpendicular to the axes of the pins under control of a linear displacement drive (17) with a motion converter (17), for converting the rotation of a stepping motor shaft (19) into linear movement of the cam. A resetting device (22) is positioned adjacent the movement range of the linear cam, for ensuring a given position of the stepping motor (20) when the cam reaches a defined reference position.
