<p>Oxytocin receptor antagonists of formula (1) wherein R12 is hydrogen, alkoxycarbonyl or unsubstituted or substituted alkyl; R13 is hydrogen, alkoxyl, aralkoxyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkoxycarbonylamino, unsubstituted or substituted cycloalkyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenyl, unsubstituted or substituted amino, unsubstituted or substituted rings of formulae (2-17) or unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, are useful for increasing fertility rates and embryonic survival in farm animals. The compounds are also useful for improving survival rates of farm animal neonates by controlling the timing of parturition to effect delivery of the neonates during daylight hours, thereby ensuring proper monitoring of the neonates. Additionally, the compounds are useful for controlling the timing of estrus.</p> |
