PURPOSE: To easily and accurately grind a welded protrusion part of a rail surface. CONSTITUTION: A base body 10 to be fixed to a rail 1 is provided, and a slider 20 reciprocatingly driven along the longitudinal direction of the rail 1 is fitted to the base body 10. A grinding unit 40 integratedly equipped with a motor 41 and a grinding wheel 42 is pivotally supported swingably in the height direction of the rail 1 on the slider 20. Also, the slider 20 is equipped with a cutting adjusting device 50 for swinging the grinding unit 40 around a swinging shaft 44 to determine grinding depth of the grinding wheel 42. Further, the slider 20 is furnished with a sensor for detecting height of a welded protrusion part on a surface of the rail 1, and based on a signal from this sensor the cutting adjusting device 50 is driven, thus automating cutting operation. |
