PURPOSE: To provide a color filter of a low cost which can be produced with high throughput and high production yield. CONSTITUTION: Alignment marks provided almost on the whole surface of a base body 8 during forming a color filter are recognized by an image recognizing device 5. The mark of the alignment mark recognized is compared to the pattern of alignment marks preliminarily stored in the memory to judge dislocation of the position of the base body. Then based on the dislocation of the base body 8 judged, the position of the base body 8 is finely adjusted.
