PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition which can give a molding excellent in both rigidity and impact resistance by mixing a thermoplastic resin with an inorganic filler and a polyacrylonitrile fiber. CONSTITUTION: This resin composition comprises 98-30wt.% thermoplastic resin, 0.01-50wt.% polyacrylonitrile fiber, and 1-60wt.% inorganic filler. The polyarylonitrile fiber is a fiber of an acrylonitrile homopolymer or a copolymer comprising at least 90wt.% acrylonitrile and at the most 10wt.% vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith. It is desirable that this fiber has a fineness of 0.5-50 denier, a tensile strength of 2.5g/d or above and an initial modulus of elasticity of 30g/d or above. The fiber length is desirably 0.05-20mm. This composition is made into a molding by injection, extrusion, compression or blow molding or vacuum forming. |
