PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the malfunction and the fault of a device even if the vibration for notifying a user is generated, by providing a function suppressing vibration, in a portable information device provided with a vibration generation means. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 1 judges a vibration suppression condition such as the condition as to whether the access for an HDD 5 is being executed or not when a reception event is generated. If the access is being executed, the operation of a vibration generator 6 is inhibited till the access is terminated. The CPU 1 performs a control so as to inhibit the access till the vibration is terminated when the access request for the HDD 5 is generated while the vibration generator 6 operates. Because the generation of vibration is suppressed while the access for the HDD 5 is performed by the vibration suppression condition by this control, an event in which the HDD 5 malfunctions or goes wrong due to vibration can be prevented. |
