GROUPING OF NODES IN NETWORK AND DATA TRANSFER METHOD

摘要

PURPOSE: To attain data in a broadcast form to transfer without revision of a packet itself even in the case of irregular topology with respect to an inter- processor communication network in a parallel computer system by grouping nodes hierarchically and adding a hierarchical address to each group corresponding to the hierarchical groups to which the nodes belong. CONSTITUTION: All nodes being components of a network are classified into plural highermost layer groups in the step 1 at first. Then the nodes in the highermost layer groups are classified into plural 2nd ranking layer group in the step 2, and the nodes in higher ranking layers are classified into plural subordinate groups just below the higher ranking groups in the step 3 similarly to the case with the steps 1, 2. In the classification above, the nodes in the inside of each group as the result of classification are able to be communicated via the nodes in a concerning group as the result of grouping. Then hierarchical addresses are provided on all the nodes being the components of the network corresponding to the hierarchical group to which each concerning node belongs in the step 4.
