Pressure pulse damper with cellular plastics component

The damper has a hollow body in the form of a thin-walled hose (68) of flexible and elastic plastics, with two spaced-out ends (70,72). At each end, the wall of the hose is clamped and closed tight. This forms at least one lengthwise chamber (76,78). It also has a lengthwise component of elastic cellular plastics fitted in each chamber. Each chamber is hermetically sealed and contains a compressible gas. The hollow body is in contact with the fuel being issued by the pump, so that it and the cellular plastics component are compressed by the pressure pulse and can damp it.
