Measuring system for determining speed of textile material moving longitudinally

A regulating circuit of the travel time correlator adjusts itself to a model dead time (tau), which corresponds to the actual transit time (T) of a thread section across the length (L). A dividing element is connected to the regulating circuit, for computing the speed (v), which forms the quotients from L and tau. One sensor (g1) at least, consists of two signal receivers arranged one behind the other in the thread running direction. This sensor (g1) has a sensor characteristic curve with an intersecting point of the abscissa in the effective sensor centre axis. So the curve responds point symmetrical with the abscissa, at least in the vicinity of the intersecting point. The second sensor (g2) has a uniform curve course in the region of its effective sensor centre axis. The regulating circuit of the transit time correlator is so designed, that the undifferentiated cross correlation function serves as a regulating input signal, for the determination and the readjusting of the balance point, for the model dead time (tau).
