The positioner and support consists of a boss with a hole (2) in it, and a number of lengthwise ribs (4) spaced evenly around the inside of the hole and parallel to its lengthwise axis. The ribs are made from a softer material than that of the bolt (9), and their inner edges (5) lie on a circle with a diameter smaller than that of the external diameter of the bolt's thread. At the end of the hole a deformable collar (6) acts as a temporary stop for the bolt. The ribs have a triangular cross-section, and their size and number depend on the hardness of the material used to make them.
