<p>A selective refuse sorting device for vertical disposal chutes. Each refuse disposal hatch assembly (300) comprises as many chambers (321) as there are categories of refuse to be sorted. In one embodiment, each hatch assembly comprises one hatch (3) for each chamber (321), and in an alternative embodiment, each hatch assembly (300) has a single hatch and each user has a partitioned tub with a pivotable bottom wall wherein each compartment is aligned with a chamber (321) for the same category of refuse. Furthermore, a pivotable chute (4) directs each type refuse into a corresponding bin (5), weighing scales (14) are provided under each of the bins (5), the chute (4) may be replaced by a skip conveyor travelling along a rail, and the shaft (1) may be provided with a fixed bottom wall skip to limit noise and pollution in the shaft (1). The main advantage of said device is that users need not wait before disposing of refuse in the device.</p> |
