LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display having a good display grade and a process for production thereof. CONSTITUTION: The alignment of a counter substrate having a black matrix 210 and the apertures of a printing plate 204 is executed by detecting moire images with a CCD camera 209 from the side opposite to the spacer printed surface of a counter substrate, thereby detecting the relative positions thereof. The relative positions are controlled by using a transparent moving stage 207 in accordance with the detected relative positions, by which the alignment is executed. Light shielding region are thereby surely printed with the spacers.
