PURPOSE: To provide a method for beautifying a park or the water side by freely rearing and cultivating various terrestrial plants on the water surface. CONSTITUTION: In the method for horticulture for planting a terrestrial plant 6 on the water surface, a granular porous material 3 is packed into a lightweight pot 1 having a porous bed 2 and an open bottom and the terrestrial plant 6 is supported in the granular porous material 3. A gap is formed between the porous bed 2 and the water surface 7 and a means for sucking up water from the water surface 7 to the granular porous material 3 by capillarity while floating the pot having planted the terrestrial plant 6 on the water surface is installed. Or, the pot having planted the terrestrial plant 6 is floated on water so that the porous bed is positioned approximately on the water surface 7 to provide the objective method for water horticulture. |
