PURPOSE: To obtain a new substance TMC-1 highly suppressing reproduction of human tumor cell, having low toxicity and high safety as a medicine useful for curing of breast cancer or ovarium cancer, etc., by culturing a microorgan ism belonging to genus Streptomyces and purifying the resultant cultured sub stance. CONSTITUTION: This compound expressed by formula I (R is expressed by formula II-formula V) is obtained by culturing a Streptomyces SP A-230 (FERM P-14460) belonging to genus Streptomyces (e.g. in a liquid medium, by an aerobic stirring culture, in a medium pH of about 7, at a culturing temperature of about 28 deg.C and for 72-120 hours) and purifying the resultant cultured substance. Physicochemical properties of the aimed substance are follows: state of the substance; light-yellow powder, molecular weight; 513, molecular formula; C23 H36 N2 O7 , melting point; decomposes at about 95 deg.C specific rotation; [α]D<24> =-55 deg.±3 deg. (C=0.1, chloroform), solubility; soluble in an alcohol such as methanol or ethanol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform, dichloromethane or dimethyl sulfoxide, insokuble in-hexane or water. |
