PURPOSE: To provide the character processor which can perform table calculation for a table having complicated element constitution such as a table which is different in the array of elements between the row direction and column direction and a table which contains different elements as elements arrayed in the row or column direction. CONSTITUTION: A row or column to be calculated is specified first (step S19) and the item arrangement of the specified raw or column is read out on the basis of the arrangement of ruled lines for sectioning its items (step S20). The read item arrangement is stored. When a specified calculation range is accepted (step S21), the item arrangement of the head row or column in the calculation range is read (step S22) and the read item arrangement is compared with the stored item arrangement (step S23). When the read item arrangement and stored item arrangement are the same, the calculation of the row or column having the read item arrangement is performed (step S24). |
