PURPOSE: To obtain a tantalum capacitor element excellent in heat resistance characteristics by improving the adhesion between a manganese dioxide layer and a carbon layer. CONSTITUTION: A formation film 2 is deposited on a sintered tantalum pellet 1 and a solid electrolyte layer i.e., a manganese dioxide layer 3, is formed on the film 2. Subsequently, a carbon layer 4 and a silver layer 5 are formed sequentially on the manganese dioxide layer 3 thus producing a solid tantalum capacitor. In this method for producing a solid tantalum capacitor, the sintered pellet 1 is immersed into an aqueous suspension containing carbon black having particle size in the range of 0.1 to 0.5μm after formation of the manganese dioxide layer 3. It is then lifted and fired at a predetermined temperature thus forming the carbon layer 4.
