<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire the advantages of both computer and telecommunication technologies and avoid the defects of the technologies when the technologies are individually used by using a component using both of the technologies. SOLUTION: A video server V1 is provided with a plurality of real-time video array controller modules M1 and a multiport switch module M2 which are mounted by using the computer engineering. The server Vi is also provided with fiber channels for an ATM gateway module M5 which is mounted by using the telecommunication technology, a video buffer module M4 , and an ARM module M3 . The modules M3 and M4 are mounted by combinedly using the computer engineering and telecommunication engineering and the advantages of the modules M1 and M2 are incorporated in the module M3 . The module M1 can be changed in accordance with the scale, because a real-time video array controller module can be added to the module M1 as real-time requests increase, and the control of the module M1 is provided from servers S1 -S6 . Thus the defects of the technologies when the technologies are individually used can be avoided.</p> |
