PURPOSE: To provide a thesaurus subclassifying method in which the efficiency of subclassifying work to meaning-classify more finely the set of words with the same higher-rank word in a thesuarus is promoted mechanically, and the consistent thesaurus is constructed. CONSTITUTION: In respect of all hierarchy relation in the inputted thesaurus 21, the equivalent of the word under the command of the higher-rank word is translated and added by using a bilingual dictionary 22, and they are stored in a bilingual table 23, and a word group with the same equivalent under the command of the higher-rank word about every higher-rank word is taken out of the bilingual table 23, and a word group table 24 is generated, and in the case that the word groups are in inclusion relation with each other in the word group table, both the word groups are identified, and equivalent relation is generated, and in the case that they overlap partially, the word of an overlapping part is made higher-rank and the word of the other part is made lower- rank, and the hierarcheal relation is generated. |
