Shock absorber for cycle saddles, esp. for bicycles

The absorber has an upper part (6) with device for accepting a saddle, and which telescopes in a tubular lower part (7) which is fixed to the frame of the cycle. A guard (9) prevents rotation of the two parts with respect to each other. Damping is provided by a helical compression spring arrangement (10) which rests on a seat at the bottom of the lower part, and acts against a plate (16) in a flange-shaped stop (12) at the base of the upper part. The sliding action of the parts is assisted by an arrangement of guides (8) above the stop. The spring arrangement may consist of a series of springs (14) of different stiffnesses.
