PURPOSE: To provide an air bag device capable of reducing the number of component items of a mechanism to release and actuate a safety device, and reducing the man-hour and the manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: An air bag device is provided with a guide plate 11 to be fitted to a fitting plate 25 on a steering wheel body 21 side, and a safety pin 15 which releases a safety device 8 when being inserted into an inserting hole 8a of the safety device 8 in the air bag device body 1 and actuates the safety device 8 when being drawn from the inserting hole 8a and is movably held in the axial direction relative to the guide plate 11. The guide plate 11 is fitted to the fitting plate 25 on the steering wheel body 21 side in an oscillating manner in the direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the safety pin 15 using a stepped rivet 10.
