PROTECTIVE COVER FOR INSULATOR

PURPOSE: To cover the whole of an insulator and to bind/unbind a binding part provided in a flange part at a breath by a method wherein the insulator is fitted in a recessed part provided in an inner surface of a semicylindrical body, and the other semicylindrical body is folded at a hinge part. CONSTITUTION: Semicylindrical bodies 8a of a cover body 8 are opened about a hinge part 14 as an origin. A porcelain-made wire support part 2 of an insulator 1 is contained in a recessed part 9. A recessed groove 4 is held by a projected part 10. A ring groove of a neck part is fastened by a protuberance 11. A small-diameter part 7 is fastened by a projected part 12. In this manner, the porcelain-made wire support part 2 is fixed. Furthermore, the wire support part 2 is cushioned by a recessed and projected step part provided in the recessed part 9 correspondingly to a large-diameter part 6 of the wire support part 2. The whole of the porcelain-made wire support part 2 easy to break is protected. The semicylindrical bodies 8a are folded double so that the open end is closed. The semicylindrical bodies 8a are combined into a cylindrical form by pressing and fastening buttons 17 into opposed circular holes 16, thereby covering and protecting the insulator 1.
