PURPOSE: To smoothly feed an object from a shift position to the next shift position according to the stitch data. CONSTITUTION: An X-axis motor 30 moves an object by a shift quantity (ΔX) in the X-direction, and a Y-axis motor 40 moves the object by a shift quantity (ΔY) in the Y-axis direction based on the shift quantities (ΔX,ΔY) of the stitch data 10 inputted to a stitch data input means 22. A drive signal output means 24 outputs drive signals to the X-axis motor 30 and Y-axis motor 40 respectively to concurrently drive them so that the speed ratio between the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction in an optional time is made equal to the ratio between the shift quantity (ΔX) in the X-axis direction and the shift quantity (ΔY) in the Y-axis direction during the shift of the object. The object is not moved in the X-axis direction only or in the Y-axis direction only, and it is straightly and smoothly moved from a shift position to the next shift position.
