PURPOSE: To enable use as sliding parts at a high speed in an oilless state by interposing an Ni-P meddle layer between the surface of a light metal substrate and a ceramic coating film. CONSTITUTION: An Ni-P middle layer is interposed between the surface of a light metal substrate and a ceramic coating film to obtain a material having the advantage of low specific gravity peculiar to the light metal and wear resistance peculiar to the ceramic coating film. The Ni-P middle layer is deposited by electroless plating and the thickness is regulated to 0.5-50μm, preferably 10-20μm. The ceramic coating film is a CrN coating film formed, e.g. by ion plating. The use of the resultant material can be expected because vibration is also suppressed.
